Pentad Furniture

Client Brief:

To design a display for their products, which is 3D printed spectacle frames. The display should be easy to mass produce and very cost-effective.

The display will be set up inside pharmacies and needs to bring in an essence of sustainability.

Challenges:

– To design a display system that should accommodate:

4 Spectacle Frame Design
4 Colour options for each design
7 Major options in optical power.

– As Seestainable aims to achieve sustainability through 3D printing their frames, the display needs to bring that essence into the whole package.

– The display will be set up and placed in places with varying temperatures and humidity.

Design Thinking:

USER EXPERIENCE:

To improve the design, we generally understand the user and their requirements to empathize with and accentuate the overall experience.

-The display unit is to be used in the country of India, where the average user’s height is 5’2″ (F) 5’6″ (M).

– The objects on display should be easily accessible, grab attention of the user.

– The display unit should consist of a diopter chart, and the user needs to view it exactly 30cms away from the chart.

– Colour coded display of power on either side of the stand to increase overall visibilty and ease the user to choose the right power.
